Country Shapes: guess the country from its outline
You see the outline of a country and nothing else. You have 6 tries, and after each miss the game tells you how far and in which direction the right country is. There is a new challenge every day, the same for everyone.
How to play
- Type a country name and pick it from the list. If you miss, you see the distance between the two countries, the direction of the right one and a percentage: the closer to 100%, the closer you are.
- On try 4 you get the continent and on try 6 the flag. Getting it first time is worth 1000 points; each extra try takes off 150.
- Distances are measured between the centres of the countries, so two large neighbours can show hundreds of kilometres apart.
- Countries made only of tiny atolls spread across the ocean, and city-states, are left out, because their shape cannot be recognised.
Shapes that tell stories
Chile is more than 4,000 km long from north to south but on average only about 180 km wide. The Gambia is a narrow strip along a river, surrounded by Senegal on every side except the sea.
